editorial policy
NinjaDeals is a community-powered deal aggregator. Most deals are posted by members of the community, not by staff — so trust comes from a mix of community signal, editor checks, and transparent handling of prices and expiry. This page explains exactly how that works, so you know what a badge or a score on this site actually means.
How deals are verified
Every deal carries a community score. Members react to a deal with one of six weighted reactions — 🔥 fire, ❤️ love and 👍 thumbs-up count as positive signal, while 👎 thumbs-down, 😠 angry and 💀 dead count against it. The reactions are weighted (a 🔥 is worth more than a plain 👍), and the net result is the deal's score. The highest-rated deals rise to the frontpage. There is no paid ranking — placement reflects what the community genuinely rates.
Contributors build a reputation over time as the community rates their posts and comments. A poster's reputation is shown next to their deals, so a find from an established member reads differently from a brand-new account.
Some deals also carry an “✦ Editor verified” badge. This is a staff-applied flag: it means a member of our team has checked the deal — that the link, price and terms are what the post claims — at the time it was verified. It is a point-in-time check, not a running guarantee: prices and stock change, so always confirm the final price on the merchant's site before you buy. Most deals are not editor-verified, and the absence of the badge does not mean a deal is bad — only that a human hasn't hand-checked it.
How prices are presented
Where a deal qualifies for bank or card offers, we also compute an effective price — what you would actually pay after the best applicable offers stack — and show the path we used to get there. We surface the prices we find and report; we do not manufacture inflated “was” prices to make a discount look bigger.
How expired deals are handled
Deals don't vanish when they end. An expired deal stays live at its original URL for reference, but it is clearly marked EXPIRED and dimmed in listings so you're never misled into chasing a dead offer. Expired deals are removed from search-engine indexing, and their structured data marks the item as out of stock, so search results and shopping tools don't present a stale deal as if it were still available.
If you find that a deal has ended before it's been marked expired, the community can downvote it and report it (see below) so it drops out of the way quickly.
How to report a bad deal
Every deal has a Report action. Opening it lets you flag the deal with a reason — spam, harassment or abuse, duplicate content, incorrect offer info, or something else — and add a note. Reports go straight to our moderation queue for staff to review and act on.
Voting is the fastest signal of all: a 👎 or 💀 reaction pushes a misleading or dead deal down for everyone, so even without filing a report you're helping keep the frontpage honest.
